All About Storytellers in Paralives
When starting a new save in Paralives you’ll be on a train with lots of choices to make. At the back of the train you’ll get the option to choose between three Storytellers that will make your game harder or easier depending on your choices.
Who are the Storytellers?
There are three storytellers in the train for you to choose from. Each storyteller has a different level of difficulty for you to play around with so different players will want to pick different storytellers.

Ricardo Castello III
“A storyteller that will bring more challenges in your Parafolks’ daily lives.”
If you want a challenge in your game and love struggling your way through, this is the Storyteller for you!

Maxence
“A storyteller that provides a fair and balanced gameplay experience.”
Maxence will give you a very balanced experience adding some gameplay challenges but without it being too hard for casual players.

Stella
“A Storyteller that will protect your Parafolks from life’s lowest lows and make for a less challenge gameplay experience.”
This is for players who want to have a Paralives experience where their Paras are less likely to have bad things happen to them or don’t want to be given huge challenges in the game.
How to Pick a Storyteller

You get to choose a Storyteller at the end of the train ride introduction after you’ve made your Para. You’ll want to travel through the cars until your game tells you that your Parafolk is hungry.
You can eat the food and you’ll see two Paras and a dog at the end and you can click on these and choose one based on your preference.
How to Change Your Storyteller Later
If you’re playing through your game and want to change your Storyteller, you can go into the pause menu and find the Storyteller option. Clicking on this opens a menu where you can choose between the three storytellers and change it up.

Clicking this opens up a menu with all three Storytellers available and shows you all about them. This is also how you can change your gameplay options for customization!

Nightly Storyteller Cards
Each night when your Paras are all sleeping you’ll get text on screen that says “Another day, another story…” When you see this you’ll see an option on the right side to click on your storyteller and some cards will appear.
When you do this a set of three cards will pop up with text that says “A new page in your story…” You can hover over these cards to see the different categories with options like work or social.

Clicking on one of these will let you choose from category specific cards for the day. You cannot go back after choosing a category, so choose wisely.
You’ll get a few cards to choose from and when you hover over them you’ll get more information about what the card will do. These can impact your Para in small ways like making them get an increased learning speed for the day or having them start falling in love with another Para, even if they’re married!

Storyteller Customization Settings

When choosing your Paralives storyteller you can see a customize storyteller option. This lets you change some game options to make the game experience truly your own.
In this menu you’ll see everything you can do which fall into a few categories including time, pregnancy, careers, and money.
Time Settings
The first category is all about time passing in the game. You’ll be able to choose if your household ages as well as non-household Paras. This means you can stop time and never have a Para age up or die from old age.
You can also change the duration of life stages to have your Paras age up faster or slower with short, normal and long being options.
You can also change the minutes per real life seconds so you can truly customize everything about time making it go way faster if you prefer a faster style of gameplay.
Pregnancy Settings
The settings in this category are my favourite because in the other simulation game these things required mods or super outdated cheat codes to do them. In this section you can change how long your Parafolk will be in each trimster for, down to the minute. You can also change the length of labour making it perfect for your preferences.
The best part is that you can change the percentage chances of having your Para get pregnant, have twins, or have triplets. To start it’s a 50% change of pregnancy, a 5% chance of twins and 1% chance of triplets but you can change them to whatever you’d like.
Career Settings
There are currently three settings in the Career category! The first is to change your job performance threshold for strikes.
Next up you can choose if your Parafolk will eat while they are at work. This is helpful for keeping your needs up and not having them come home hungry every day.
The final option is to have your Parafolk automatically use the toilet while at work. This will make it so they don’t come home with a full bladder which can cause them to have accidents.
Money Settings
Under the money settings you can choose your Parafolks’ starting funds. The game default starts at 30,000 paradimes but you can change it to whatever you want based on the story you want to tell!
